                        I&#8217;ve read both Allen Carr&#8217;s books on quitting smoking &#8211; today I&#8217;m a confirmed non-smoker!  His approach to &#8220;reprogramming&#8221; all those lies about smoking really worked &#8211; I just simply don&#8217;t want or need to smoke anymore!  Simply amazing book!  It should be mandatory reading in high schools/colleges/hospitals, etc &#8211; anywhere there are still people smoking!  </p>

                        As a supplement to Alan Carr&#8217;s oringinal easyway book, the little book of quitting is cool.  But alone, this book is not really all that motivational.  I read the Easyway and this book twice, and I&#8217;m still smoking like a chimney.  Don&#8217;t waste your money, just go buy some patches. </p>

                        Very handy and convenient little book full of a lot of USEFUL information.  I like how it narrowed down what kind of smoker I was.                         I smoked 2-3 packs a day of menthols and tried the pills and hypnosis but neither worked.  Read this book in less then 2 hours and haven&#8217;t smoked since!  That was over 7 years now and saved thousands of dollars not to mention smelling like a dirty ashtray.  Please try this book before you blow money on useless treatments like I did.  Good luck! </p>

                        I used this book years ago to quit smoking (successfully now, for 20+ years).  Besides the very good advice about how to quit smoking, I especially like the pages in the back where you list your reasons for quitting.  You can use this technique for quitting anything, so this book is very handy as a diet book if you want to lose weight. Just keep going back to your list of reasons for losing weight, e.g. health, blood pressure, get into small size jeans, etc. , and you will find it easier to modify your behaviour.  The book is small enough to carry in your pocket, like a pack of cigs.  Keep re-reading page 109, and your list of reasons, and it will help you quit any bad habits you truly want to change. </p>

                        I usually don&#8217;t write reviews for anything&#8212;, but I just have to tell you that George Wissing&#8217;s Book &#8221; Stop Smoking For the Last Time &#8221; is packed with some dynamite information&#8211; for those of you who are looking to stop smoking.</p>
<p>Folks, this is good stuff!  If you really DESIRE to stop smoking, I highly recommend this book.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve smoked for about 40 years averaging 2-3 packs a day. In the past, I have tried practically all the different gimmicks (patches, the gum, hypnosis, Chantix, the cold turkey approach or rather &#8220;the old willpower method&#8221;).  Nothing worked. </p>
<p>Wissing&#8217;s approach is quite unique, a truly revitalizing &#038; inspirational method.  Your answers to YOUR particular smoking problem can be found within the pages of this book.</p>
<p>I read the book last night and this morning, I decided I didn&#8217;t want to smoke anymore. Yes, just like that! No magic,  there is some work involved&#8211; but if you have the right frame of mind&#8212; this can SEEM like magic. No kidding!<br />

                        I just finished reading George Wissing&#8217;s new book, Stop Smoking for the Last Time. WOW! What a breath of fresh air. As a physician and surgeon, I had never heard of anything like this before. It truly shed new light on a common problem that I as a doctor have to deal with on a daily basis. I&#8217;m not a smoker, but reading this book gave me so much insight into the mind of the smoker, and even more reason to be kind, patient, and understanding of their true &#8220;addiction&#8221;, which Mr. Wissing states is not due to nicotine. He makes some convincing arguments that it&#8217;s not so much a chemical dependency that&#8217;s keeping you addicted, but more of an emotional one that leads to a Pavlovian &#8220;habit.&#8221; His concept of smoking as a form of deep breathing and meditation was what really gave me an &#8220;ah-ha&#8221; moment for me. </p>
<p>Even if you don&#8217;t smoke, or if you have other &#8220;habits&#8221; such as an eating problem, this book&#8217;s basic concepts can be applied to almost any of life&#8217;s problem areas. I&#8217;ve already started implementing some of his recommendations into my life, and I&#8217;m already beginning to feel better. </p>

                        I almost hate to review this book because it will publicly link my name with smoking. It is worth it, though, because this review may help someone else to ditch cigarettes. I thought I needed all the help I could get to stop smoking. I liked the approach this author has and I still refer to this book. It has a no nonsense approach that appealed to me and works well into the process of stopping smoking. I recommend this book to anyone who is considering breaking their smoking habit. </p>

                        This book needs some serious editing.  I couldn&#8217;t get past the numerous grammatical errors in the introduction and first chapter to finish the book.  I don&#8217;t expect perfection, but there were numerous cases where the author didn&#8217;t know the difference between different forms of words (&#8221;they&#8217;re&#8221;, &#8220;there&#8221;, and &#8220;their&#8221;, for example) and repeated the same mistake over and over. </p>

                        I&#8217;ve now given this book to eight of my friends who smoke.  Five of them have quit for good.  One is reading the book as I write this. If you truly want to quit (a lot of smokers say they do, but they don&#8217;t, actually) this book should do the trick. </p>

<p>My most recent purchase of this book was actually for my brother.  I, however, read it over eight months ago and quit smoking cold turkey on January 14th, 2009 after being a smoker for 16 years.  </p>
<p>It really was the easy way to quit smoking and I can happily say that I&#8217;m a non-smoker for good now.  </p>
<p>Currently, I recommend this book to all of my smoking friends who mention wanting to quit.  It&#8217;s the best way I&#8217;ve seen thus far. </p>

                        It delivered what it said it would &#8211; 1,440 reasons to quit.  Not all of them inspired though &#8230;  It&#8217;s a small book too &#8211; the type is also small.  I didn&#8217;t think it was worth the money spent.  You could find more inspiration online or from sections of more meaty books like Complete Idiots Guide to Quitting. After getting through the first few pages I was like &#8220;Dang! &#8211; I could do a more imaginative job myself&#8221; (and I&#8217;m a crummy writer) <img src='http://www.quitsmokingnews.info/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' />   But hey, if you want to send a message to a smoking friend &#8230;. this is a positive and non-confrontational way to do it&#8230;.would make a good stocking stuffer too (it&#8217;s that small&#8230;) </p>

                        As a nurse, I had tried many methods to quit. While reading this book, I put a checkmark next to the reasons that I could relate to.  I then typed all of those reasons over, &#8220;brainwashing&#8221; myself to some degree. For example, the next time I thought I deserved a cigarette to celebrate I remembered a reason&#8230; there are other ways to reward yourself besides putting your mouth on a tailpipe.  It is so true, I went to Starbucks and still saved money!!!<br />

                        This book got me to quit. I&#8217;ve tried quitting a hundred times. I smoked for 24 years since I was 14 years old and have never gone more than 2 months without a cigarette until now. I&#8217;ve been quit for 3 months as of today and I&#8217;m nowhere close to going back; I&#8217;m done with this disgusting habit.  I&#8217;ve used a million different strategies to quit and I always went back to smoking&#8230;until I bought this book. Whenever I tried to quit before I would have a reason to quit that I thought would work. For example, I would quit because of my health, or my tennis game, or my love life. Whatever. Eventually, when faced with enormous cravings, these excuses didn&#8217;t hold up to the power of nicotine. What this book does is give you 1440 reasons to quit, not just one or two reasons. Now, when I get a really bad craving where I think I&#8217;m going to bust, I just pick up 1440 Reasons To Quit Smoking and I realize what a dangerous and stupid habit it is. Now, if I was to ever decide to smoke again, it would just be suicide pure and simple. Also, go to quitnet.net, the best website in the world if you want to stop smoking. </p>

                        I was a deeply sceptical user but I did what the cd&#8217;s told me to do and amazingly I gave up my pack a day habit. I listened to cd1 a week before my quit date. The day before my quit date I was still sceptical but woke up the next day and had NO urge to smoke. Didn&#8217;t even need the nicotine patches. This is a truly remarkable technique to give up smoking. </p>

                        The documentation for these CD&#8217;s is totally inadequate. </p>
<p>I found myself not wanting to smoke&#8230;.true enough. But I couldn&#8217;t figure out if I was listening to the right CD or not (there were 3). I stopped using the program after the first disc because I didn&#8217;t know what to do next or when.</p>
<p>The voice of the author is a little strange.</p>
<p>I will be looking for another CD kit from another author. This CD kit has promise if the author would use this feedback. </p>

                        I have tried many times to quit smoking and never managed more than 1 day.  I used this system and am now into my second week, smoke free.   After more than 20 years as a smoker, I believe I have the support I needed to quit for good.    If you follow the system as instructed and just relax then it will work! </p>

                        I AM 37 YEARS OLD AND I STARTED SMOKING 26 YEARS AGO (YES WHEN I WAS 11) I HAVE BEEN SMOKING AT LEAST 2 PACKS A DAY FOR THE PAST 16 YEARS.I HAVE NEVER NOT ONE TIME HONESTLY TRIED TO STOP SMOKING. I READ THE FIRST 47 PAGES OF THIS BOOK AND ACTUALLY PAID ATTENTION TO WHAT SHE WAS SAYING. THEN IT WAS TIME FOR ME TO LISTEN TO THE CD. I WAITED 2 DAYS BEFORE I LISTENED TO THE CD. I WAS SCARED TO STOP SMOKING. I KNEW I WOULD MISS IT AND REALLY DIDN&#8217;T THINK I WOULD BE ABLE TO QUIT. WELL, IT HAS NOW BEEN 3 DAYS AND I HAVE NOT HAD ONE CIGARETTE. THE THOUGHT HAS CROSSED MY MIND A TIME OR TWO, BUT NOTHING BAD ENOUGH TO MAKE ME GO BACK TO SMOKING. IT DOESN&#8217;T EVEN BOTHER ME TO BE AROUND PEOPLE WHO ARE SMOKING. I CAN&#8217;T BELIEVE IT BUT THE SMOKE ACTUALLY STUNK TO ME I THOUGHT I WOULD ENJOY THE SMELL, SINCE I HADN&#8217;T HAD A CIGARETTE.I HAVE OFFERED EVERYONE I KNOW THATSMOKES THE USE OF MY BOOK AND CD IF THEY WANT IT. IT WAS WELL WORTH WHATEVER I PAID FOR IT. </p>

                        This book and CD had no effect what so ever, other than perhaps to get me more determined to find something that really works. </p>

<br /> for me this book did the trick, within that hour or two had a craving for a cigarette and tried to smoke it and could not inhale and it felt like i was dying, but you really want to do it, speaking from a person  who smoke for 30 years 1 to 2 packs per day i have not touch a butt for 2 1/2 months and everybody around smokes and it doesnt bother me and it is true&#8230;. mind over matter&#8230;.. i dont mind not haven it and it does not matter to me&#8230;.. i can smell, i can walk  without out of breathe,<br />

                        I have been smoking a pack a day since 1985.  I have tried everything to quit, patches, gum, lozenges, and I even went to a hypnotist.<br />
<br />I have no idea what it is about this cd but it worked.  I read the book first then listened to the cd before I went to bed.  I woke up the next morning with out any desire to smoke.  I still had the habit of smoking.  After I would eat I would think &#8220;I need a cigarette&#8221; but then the thought of it made me sick.  In fact the smell makes me want to vomit.  Even just thinking about smoking makes me cringe.  I am finally a non-smoker.  I finally have my life back and I don&#8217;t stink anymore.<br />
<br />I am loaning and purchasing this for all my smoking friends.  Never have I had such great results from hynosis for anything.   </p>

                        I have tried to quit in the past but felt not so convinced about it, I felt miserable anytime I had a smoker near by. With this method, the first week was tough but respiratory exercise and this sort of irrational belief that something changed in me helped me. Now I enjoy inhaling with deep breaths. No exhauted lungs by smoke and toxic chemicals. It is 10 times as good as a cigarette ! I am full of energy, no soar throat when I wake up or worst desatrous headache after late nights if I drink a bit. I quit smoking and I know it is for good, when I am seing a smoker, i feel sad for him. </p>
